Twitter, Twitter, online wall, who’s the cattiest first lady of all? The dishonor clearly goes to France’s Valerie Trierweiler for the cheap Twitter shot she took at her husband’s former partner.
Trierweiler’s tweet, dubbed “the first gaffe of France" by a major newspaper in the country, is written like a note of encouragement on the surface. "Have courage, Olivier Falorni," it began. But everyone who knows French politics got the subtext.
Falori is a candidate for Parliament, and his opponent is Segolene Royal, who mothered four children as the unmarried partner of new French President President Francois Hollande. "Francois completely trusts me. Except with my tweets," Trierweiler said in an interview just days before her scandalous tweet.
