Only Twitter and the New York Police Department know the “Anonymous Celebrity” who tweeted under the pseudonym @obamasmistress, but apparently the tweeter wasn’t as threatening in person as he or she pretended to be online.

The NYPD went to court to force Twitter to release information about the anonymous Twitter user after a threat to commit mass murder in a New York theater. The warning surfaced online days after a similar shooting near Denver during the midnight premier of “The Dark Knight Rises.” Police interviewed the account owner in West Virginia but chose not to make an arrest.
